Job Description:

Those assigned to this position shall work with superiors to understand and comply with the company's safety, navigation, and environmental policies including, but not limited to, their responsibilities under the Emergency Plan and Muster List.

The ADO shall have an understanding of the Navigation Policy and Procedures manual, Master’s Standing Orders, and Master’s Night Orders.

The ADO may, at time to time, be assigned additional items consistent with the safe operation and mission of the vessel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed deck officer OR deck cadet/student at a maritime academy OR other approved program to obtain a deck watch-standing officer’s license.
